I met Hannah while pursuing my Master of Divinity at Gateway Seminary, at a time when I was already well trained in theology and ministry but lacked crucial emotional and relational maturity. Over an extended season of intentional counseling, she helped me develop capacities I simply did not have before: recognizing and naming my own emotions, listening to understand rather than evaluate, practicing empathy without abandoning truth, navigating conflict in ways that lead to healing, and leading others from care rather than control. What set Hannah apart was not only her skill, but the way she embodied what she taught — present, discerning, deeply invested, and led by the Holy Spirit rather than formulas or detachment.
The fruit of this work has been unmistakable: my relationships changed, my leadership changed, my ministry changed, and even my relationship with God deepened as I learned to relate to Him with honesty and trust rather than performance alone. People who knew me before often say I am not the same person, and those who met me afterward struggle to imagine that I ever was. Without hesitation, I can say the counseling work Hannah did with me was more personally transformative than my entire seminary education — seminary equipped me to do ministry, but her counseling shaped who I am. The Holy Spirit is the one who transforms, but Hannah is one of the clearest instruments He has used in my life, and I recommend her without reservation.
